SUPPORT THE TRAILS!Today is the day to support the trails you love. At LPFA, we love them all. There are no favorites here! But this year, we’re focusing on a string of incredible trails through the Sespe Wilderness in the Ventura Backcountry. Specifically, we are raising funds to restore the upper reaches of the Piedra Blanca Trail and the Reyes Peak Trail with a 10-day Working Vacation and multiple smaller volunteer projects. To make this happen we need to raise $15,000. We’re halfway there. And with your support, this route from Piedra Blanca Trailhead to Pine Mountain will be 100% open and accessible by the end of 2026. No crawling ducking, or pack-hoisting any more!If you can, please consider a gift to LPFA today, share this with your friends, family and followers, and support the trails that support you. Find the GivingTuesday link in our bio to donate today. For the trails!#lpfa_trailvolunteers #lpfa_trailcrew #lpfa_workingvacation #givingtuesday #supportyourforest ... See MoreSee Less

LPFA GIVING TUESDAYFor GivingTuesday this year, LPFA is raising funds for an incredible network of trails in the Ventura Backcountry. The Condor Trail begins at Lake Piru and travels through the heart of the Sespe Wilderness, following many iconic trails including the Agua Blanca, Alder Creek, Sespe River, Piedra Blanca, and Reyes Peak Trails. Like veins of the wilderness, these trails transport us from our daily lives back to the places that feed our being. At LPFA, we love trails, and we KNOW that trails don’t maintain themselves. We’re here for the trails, and we think you are too. This GivingTuesday, show your support for the trails that support you.Every donation counts! Find our fundraising page at the link in our bio, and on LPForest.org.For the trails!#givingtuesday #lospadresnationalforest #condortrail #sespewilderness #venturabackcountry ... See MoreSee Less

FIRE RESTRICTIONS LIFTED!Following all the precipitation last week, FIRE RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN LIFTED IN THE LOS PADRES! Backcountry campfires are once again allowed across the forest. Earlier than usual this year and a welcomed start to the cold season. There are a few places with year round restrictions (for example, the Santa Barbara Frontcountry) so make sure to read up on current orders (link in bio) before heading out into the forest. And as always, please make sure to have a valid California Campfire Permit and to practice Leave No Trace Principles!#lospadresnationalforest #backcountry #FireRestrictions #firesafety #SantaBarbaraCounty venturacounty sanluisobispocounty montereycounty ... POTHOLE TRAIL WORKING VACATIONIt’s Working Vacation season! LPFA will be hosting our fall volunteer Working Vacation on the Pothole Trail from December 5 - 14th. This is a little different than our usual backcountry Working Vacations: we will be CAR CAMPING and BUILDING NEW TRAIL! After years of approvals and trail design, LPFA will be rerouting the first 1.5 miles of the Pothole Trail from its trailhead near Lake Piru. This kind of project DOES NOT HAPPEN OFTEN!For Working Vacations, LPFA provides the food, drinks and tools and volunteers come out to work the trail, share some laughs, and have an all around great time. It’s a great way to meet new friends and give back to the forest. If you’re interested in joining for some or all of the project, or looking for more info, sign up at the link in our bio or at LPForest.org!#lospadresnationalforest #lpfa_trailvolunteers #trailstewardship #trailbuilding #venturabackcountry #venturacounty #lpfa_workingvacation ...
